About Chris and Kate
"What sets Brown and Fenner apart from other great instrumentalists are the densely poetic and literate lyrics which seamlessly place rich and disarmingly wise phrases into a smart pop song… Brown and Fenner leave you enriched and fulfilled." - Eye Magazine
Chris Brown and Kate Fenner have been making music together for more than half of their respective lives. Beginning in their teenage years, they founded the legendary Canadian band The Bourbon Tabernacle Choir (once described by George Clinton as "The quintessential Toronto vibe"), whose well-traveled road led them to New York City, where they have collaborated ever since.

"Wonderful and I feel happy. Meeting the good music makes us happy, doesn't it? Heating, but not quickly. Our mind is getting warmer and warmer. I can describe this album like that. When you forget the precious things in your mind, I recommend that you listen to this album. Their music will remind you of them." - Junichi Uchimoto, from the Japanese liner notes of Other People's Heavens
Over the years, Chris and Kate's music has created a demand for their contributions to the work of an extraordinary breadth of other artists as well. They have recorded / performed with: B.B. King, Broken Social Scene, Tom Jones, The Tragically Hip, Ani Difranco, The Rheostatics, Michael Blake, Tony Scherr, Propaghandi and The Barenaked Ladies, naming but a few.

Throughout their career, the two have never hesitated to put their musical talents in the service of social causes they value. The album has seen release in twelve countries. Early in 2003, they recorded Resist War, giving it away to thousands via the internet. The song has been featured on compilations around the world, while a full band re-recording of Resist War is featured on GO ON.
